 The Commercial Enablement (CE) team brings a suite of expertise that aids our clients to acquire, sustain, upgrade and dispose of capability. We help our clients define and implement specific strategies on how suppliers are selected, contracted and managed to deliver the optimal level of cost, quality and supply to the organisation. Our proven commercial methodologies provides a suite of tools, templates and process considerations at each stage of the procurement lifecycle. We continue to build upon our strong track record in Defence and broader federal and state government clients including home affairs, national security, justice and policing.The CE team delivers tailored solutions that help clients achieve the optimal level of value-for-money and compliance with policy, regulation and capability requirements. This means that our clients obtain fit-for-purpose capability that they need to enable their business operations. Our expertise helps them mitigate key commercial and supply chain risks while ensuring acquisition activities are commensurate with the scale and scope of the business requirement. How are you Extraordinary?You have a deep understanding in defining contract requirements and managing the preparation of contractual artefacts and requests for tender with a thorough understanding of procurement risks.You can manage complex strategic contracts for Defence or government with a strong understanding of commercial risks and how to ensure value for money is maintained over the contract term.You enjoy and have developed strong skills in managing both internal teams and stakeholders.You have an interest in business development and an appetite for taking on challenges/initiatives and contributing to the overall growth of your team.You provide advanced technical knowledge, direction and development opportunities to others, and build constructive working relationships with colleagues and clients across different teams.You are passionate about developing strong relationships with clients, maintaining these relationships after engagement completion and assisting in the achievement of KPMG’s ongoing Defence and government business development strategy. Your ExperienceWe believe that diversity of thought, background and experience delivers meaningful benefits to our people, clients and communities.  We are looking for people with:The ability to develop, motivate and lead team members, bringing clarity to the work of the team, by focusing their efforts, evaluating performance and providing regular feedback.A depth of experience in roles managing procurement teams, outsourced supplier relationships and large commercial contracts.Deep knowledge and skills in contract management, procurement processes and complex commercial agreements, preferably including experience with the ASDEFCON templates.Demonstrated understanding of the procurement lifecycle; from acquisition strategy and planning, tender development and evaluation, negotiations and contract establishment, through to contract management.Strong understanding of Commonwealth legislative and policy frameworks (e.g., Commonwealth Procurement Rules, PGPA Act).Exceptional oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills (including experience with Defence brief and report writing)Australian security clearance, or the ability to obtain one – please note, Australian citizenship is required to obtain this clearance (it is preferable the successful candidate holds a current AGSVA [or recently lapsed] security clearance). Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance highly regarded.Tertiary qualifications, preferably in commerce, law, business, or related fields (post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded).
